Educational care for children up to two years of age in the Stromáček Crib Children's Group is focused primarily on the development of intellectual and speech skills, motor, work, aesthetic (art, music) skills and also on the development of cultural and hygienic habits appropriate to the age of the child.
Our facility also ensures the safety and health of children, their stay in the fresh air, sleep in an appropriate hygienic environment and personal hygiene of children, including first aid.
The curriculum is adapted to children of our age group. It focuses on the areas of Child and his body, Child and his psyche, Child and the other, Child and society, Child and the world.
Our aim and goal is to create an atmosphere full of well-being for the children, where they feel comfortable and safe and where they find new friends with whom they can spend many happy and nice moments playing together. We offer introductions to new skills and information. An environment full of stimuli is important to promote proper and balanced development.
An individual approach to each child, creating a harmonious and kind environment is essential. Of course, it is essential to meet all children's needs lovingly, to provide children with feelings of safety and security, and to prevent frustration.
In children, we develop their whole personality, providing them with a foundation for healthy self-esteem and self-confidence, to be themselves while adapting to life in society. We pay attention to the development of language and communication skills.
We help children to increase their imagination, vocabulary, and ability to think in broader contexts, as well as to develop their ability to better articulate their ideas. Children learn new poems and songs, accompanied by movement activities.
We help develop fine and gross motor skills, strengthen concentration, memory and other creative activities that are adapted to the age, interest and individual needs of each child
Material and hygienic conditions
Classroom facilities are adequate and we meet all legal space and hygiene requirements.
The facilities are modern and designed to make parents and children feel at home. We maintain hygienic cleanliness in all areas (hallway, playroom, bedroom, dining room). The hallway is regularly maintained, wiped down in the morning and afternoon (more often depending on the weather). A general cleaning of all areas is provided on a regular basis every Friday.
We wash the bedding regularly once every 3 weeks, then as needed (more often in case of soiling).
Staffing and pedagogical support
Our facility is staffed by a director and professional and certified nannies.
Nannies - aunts influence children with their patience, consistency and fairness; they are therefore good role models and examples for the children entrusted to them. The schedule of the day, although it is designed for children between 18 months and four years of age, is a regular one; the usual schedule at the usual time instils a sense of security and safety in the child and teaches the children to perceive the rules. On the other hand, the regime is not fixed; nannies respond to current needs and circumstances.
All workers (nannies) have clearly defined job descriptions, they work on the basis of the established internal rules of the facility.
The working hours of the care staff are organized in such a way as to ensure quality and professional care for the children.
The director ensures the proper operation and management of the child care facility and the continuing education of the caregivers (nannies), and promotes teamwork. Interpersonal relations and communication is at a good level, the strategy of the facility is clear and respected by all.
Catering
We promote a healthy lifestyle in our facility.
All-day meals consist of three meals. Morning and afternoon snack + midday lunch. All meals are delivered by the Bionea canteen.
The organisation of the meal distribution is set up according to a timetable, so that the meal distribution always starts in the dining room. Morning snack from 9:30, lunch from 11:30 and afternoon snack from 14:30.
Immediately after the food arrives, lunch is given to the children - the temperature of the food is regularly checked.
Fresh tea is prepared daily for the children, which is available to them throughout the day (drinking regime), children have drinking cups or bring their own drinking bottles, which the nannies refill as needed. We respect the parents' prohibition of certain foods (sweets, tea ...) for each child.
Organisational arrangements
We respect the individual needs and interests of children. We try to make sure that children have enough space for activities of their own choice.
Children have a cloakroom, which is equipped with wardrobe furniture.
We have a washroom with sinks, changing table and toilet for children. On the second floor there is a shower room.
The adult toilet and washbasin are separate on the second floor. We have two classrooms (playrooms) in the building. Children sleep in the classrooms. Each child has his/her own cot and bedding.
The dining room serves as an area where children eat and have the opportunity to work at tables.
All the rooms are modern, and above all purposefully furnished, there are corners for children's free play, the rooms are spacious enough and the children have enough space for spontaneous movement. They are equipped with sufficient toys and didactic material, with an emphasis on the safety of the children in all daily activities.
Children can attend the facility from 7:30 - 8:30 am by telephone arrangement of parents and nanny in the morning or longer. The children's outdoor time is included daily, which is long enough and adapted to the weather. To take the children away by a person other than the parent, we have a "Power of Attorney to Take Children Away" written with the parents.
Approaches in working with children
We strive to make children and adults feel "at home" in our environment, preferring mutual cooperation, satisfaction and safety. One of our main goals is "a happy child and a happy parent".
For the overall positive development of the children, our care staff understands the importance of children's adaptation to the children's group, and therefore we give the children enough sensitive attention according to their individual needs. For new children, we are in constant telephone contact with parents and contact parents when necessary. We try to make the adjustment period as pleasant as possible, thus making it easier for the children to join us. We make sure that all children feel comfortable and happy with us and are aware of their personal rights.
We develop sensitivity for mutual tolerance, consideration, courtesy assistance and support.
We avoid negative comments and encourage children with praise and positive evaluation. We help children meet their needs without rushing or stressing.
The whole care team approaches the children sensitively, they address the children "by name, - YOU" in all activities and offer active participation and respect the children's decision-making. We try to organize the children by motivation and praise. Instructions are articulated clearly and in a pleasant tone.
We honor and encourage mutual cooperation with parents.
We respect parents' requests and wishes. We work according to the education and care plan that we have developed and currently adjust it together according to the emerging needs of the children. We strive to respect the developmental and age peculiarities of the children, to help children develop their natural needs with respect to their personal and specific peculiarities, to create conditions for the optimal development of their personal aptitudes. (What is offered to the child during the activities is not only important for future use, but is also important for the present moment in life.)
Methods of implementing the PVP
Methods include, in particular, learning through play, learning by imitation, support for motor skills, support for cognitive development, games and exercises that support children's natural speech development and principles based on the Framework Curriculum.
Objectives of education and care
The daily educational timetable is given in a framework and allows flexible response to the individual needs and possibilities of the children. The only fixed times are meal times and afternoon rest times.
The maximum number of children in a class is 12.
We do not forget about the necessary and sufficient relaxation of children. We welcome each other every day with a very pleasant activity, a morning communicative circle of children. Morning moments of health exercises and movement games are the children's favourite activities.
By alternating controlled and spontaneous, individual and group activities, we try to provide for the children's natural needs and personal development.
We include outdoor activities every day (depending on the weather). In case of bad weather we always create a play program for the children.
Due to the young age of the children, we allow them to rest longer in the afternoon. We wake up the children at 14:30 at the latest due to time constraints.
As part of our programme we organise for children
Carnival, witches, children's day celebrations, birthday celebrations, St. Nicholas gift, Christmas gift.
Our educational plan is aimed at developing sensory perception as the basis of all natural cognition and we also focus on the prevention of defective pronunciation.
Admission of children
Each year (April) enrolment is announced - in case of free capacity, children are accepted throughout the year.
For the proper admission of children, admission criteria are developed by the director of the facility. As a rule, children are admitted from 18 months to 4 years of age, parents are offered adaptation of children to the collective in the form of a short-term attendance tariff, which is adapted to the needs of the child so that he/she gets used to the children's collective and gradually becomes independent from parents in a non-violent way.
We accept children with a diaper and a pacifier.
The daily capacity of the facility is determined by the sanitary and spatial capacity. The total maximum number of children enrolled is usually determined by the frequency of attendance.
Staying outdoors
We use the Stromovka Park, which is right next to the building, and other suitable areas for walks.
Children spend at least 1 hour outside in good weather. In good weather, the stay outside is longer.
Staying outdoors is restricted in case of bad weather (for example, strong winds, inversions or temperatures below -10 degrees C.)
Adaptation of the child
Adaptation is very important to us and we approach it individually. We do not put pressure on the children or the parents, and if we deem it appropriate together, we will terminate attendance. This is particularly the case when we recognise that a child is not yet mature enough to stay in playgroup.
We recommend talking to your child about joining a playgroup beforehand, telling them about new friends, toys and babysitters.
Parents are advised to say goodbye in front of the class and not to prolong the goodbye.
Parents hand over the child to caregivers, even if he or she is crying. It is possible to hand over the child to the caring person in the arms. Afterwards, please stay out of sight of the children. If necessary, we will call the parents before we have been arranged.
Day 1 adaptation from 8:30-10:00
Day 2 adaptation from 8:30-10:00
On subsequent days, we gradually expand attendance according to the child's needs.
Cooperation with parents
Parents communicate with the director of the playgroup during the admission procedure (visit to the playgroup), parents of new children are also informed by email with detailed information about the entry, adaptations, attendance, etc.
Class meetings are held at the beginning of the school year,
The parent can arrange to meet with the caregiver at any time during the year as needed. The caregivers offer consultation hours and communicate with parents as needed immediately upon handover of the child.
Parents can arrange to meet with the caregiver, DS Director or Executive Director.
The caregivers, DS director or executive director communicates with parents in person, by phone or email.
Parents have the right to be informed about the progress and results of their children's education and upbringing.
We like to support the belonging of parents to the children's group, thanks to informal meetings, e.g. CHRISTMAS MEETING, COLLEGE PARTY, CELEBRATION FOR MOM...
Parents are given the opportunity to make suggestions, conditions and comments.
If parents have any questions, comments, doubts, or are interested in anything about our work with children or just want to talk, share experiences, etc., they can contact the staff of the children's group.
The child and his body
The physical development of the child at two years is still aimed at mastering the maintenance of perfect balance, walking should already be confident. Because the child is not yet aware of the danger of certain situations, he engages in activities that do not yet correspond to his physical abilities, so constant supervision is needed. The child gradually gets to know his body and can name its basic parts. It is important to train hand-eye coordination and to improve the child's gross and fine motor skills through various activities.

- He uses the toilet with the help of
- He washes his own hands, wipes them on a towel

The child and his psyche
By the age of two, the child has built up a certain level of independence. The child slowly learns to speak, in this period it is important to take great care, both from the parents and from the educators. We are dedicated to maintaining hygiene habits in children, which requires quite a lot of mental, intellectual and emotional maturity of the child. The period of negativity is on the wane for most children, but defiant situations can be expected and should be prepared for, as the child is still quite unstable at this time. Gradually the child becomes sensitive, kind, calmer and more stable in moods. Children at this age like to help, they have built up their habits, little rituals that help him gain confidence and establish a secure idea of the world around them.
The child gradually begins to learn the rules of group coexistence and tries to follow them - he or she also requires others to follow them. Also, he already involves the ability of logical thinking in his discoveries, and the way of learning is mainly on the basis of trial and error. Many sentences of a three-year-old child begin with the word "I". Sentences are already acquiring the correct grammatical structure and are more comprehensible and multi-worded.
The child tries his power on others - for a while he is nice and obedient, but suddenly he is bossy and defiant. In these situations. patience and also consistency are needed caregivers. A child at this age often handles situations with tantrums and defiance as they are not yet mature enough to negotiate and listen to others. It is very important for the child trust - respect his desire for freedom and his wish to do what he can. It is necessary for the child provide a solid, secure and permanent base with immutable rules - children actually appreciate it when an adult can resist his whims, not always allowing him to impose his set firm but reasonable boundaries.
The child and the other + The child and society
In the play of a toddler there is great variability, the child alternates the objects of his interest and toys. Typical is a great interest, joy, reluctance to stop playing, the desire to return to it and to repeat certain sequences of it constantly. From manipulative play it gradually becomes constructive, from imitative play it becomes thematic - the child is able to gradually incorporate and explore larger units of play, incorporating more experience and skills. The play is full of imagination, fantasy, which are very important aspects for the child's development. Children up to the age of three play mostly independently, or in parallel with other children - this individualism is not to be wanted to be bridged quickly. After the age of two, the child becomes social in all respects - playing mostly independently and, if possible, observing the play of others. He is interested in himself, in others, but has no need to compare himself. Gradually, the child begins to feel comfortable in the company of others and begins to seek out a collective of peers. However, he or she is still unsure about relationships and communication, and so conflict situations often arise where the help of an adult is needed to grasp the situation and resolve it for the benefit of all, while at the same time teaching children to resolve conflicts independently. Over time, these conflict situations cease - mainly because the children's expressive skills improve.
In thematic games, the child repeats a chain of actions that he has observed, attributes a substitute meaning to objects (substitute objects, "like" games), uses symbolism.
In the constructive games at this time, he names his creations when he is finished, sometimes stating the intentions of his constructive experiments before the activity begins, but often changing this intention as he works.
- Makes contact with an adult
- Engages in joint games and activities, interacts with children with the help of an adult
- He can separate himself from his mother
- Imitates correct social behaviour - greeting, asking, thanking - in relation to an adult and other children
- Adapts to life in the nursery, understands routine instructions, respects basic rules of behaviour in the group
The child and the world
The child naturally observes the immediate environment and life in it, learns to handle objects that he or she normally encounters. It is necessary to explain to the child what is happening in the world around him. He progresses from things close to home, such as the environment of the home, the nursery, the place - the city in which we live. It is not appropriate to limit oneself to naming things, but it is necessary to comment on things, to tell what things are for, how they work, to encourage children's curiosity. It is important to spend as much time as possible outdoors, in the garden, in the playground...
- Oriented in a familiar environment
- Attempts to manage normal activities in the nursery - according to individual possibilities
- Distinguishes between activities that can support and threaten the health of the environment
- Gain a basic understanding of the importance of the environment
